Our sessions
We are pleased to host three Psychology webinars this spring. These sessions, aimed at anyone interested in the study and application of psychology, will be delivered by our expert academic staff.
Tuesday 29 April - Bottom-Up Diagnostics - Cognitive Assessments in Autism
Our understanding and clinical practice of mental health are often tied up in abstract diagnostic categories. While this can be helpful, these categories come with a lot of assumptions and don't always fit the person very well.
This webinar will cover some of the ways in which cognitive research can help us move towards more individualised and pragmatic evaluations.
Tuesday 6 May - Let’s Talk about Stalking: A Hidden Crime
In the UK, stalking affects 1 in 5 women and 1 in 10 men in their lifetime. Stalking is motivated by a fixation or obsession with someone and is a behaviour that is both persistent and unwanted.
The definition of stalking covers a wide and varied range of behaviours, but what do we really know about stalking? Join this webinar to learn more about the biggest hidden crime in the UK.
Tuesday 13 May - Gambling Among University Students: What are the Risks and How Can Universities Respond?
Gambling among university students has become a topic of significant concern in Higher Education and its stakeholders due to the risks attached. While many students may gamble safely for entertainment purposes, issues with gambling can remain hidden until they have significantly worsened, at which point it can be more difficult to provide the necessary support.
This webinar will explore how and why students are an at-risk demographic regarding gambling, and the ways in which universities might be able to respond to prevent students experiencing gambling-related harms.
